Bayside Villas by Islander Resort features 14 gulfside boat slips. The Florida Keys History & Discovery Center, a 7,500 square foot facility, is located on the north end of the Islander Resort property. The Florida Keys History & Discovery Center focuses on the Keys' anthropological history, including the First Nations peoples, early Spanish treasure-seekers, pirates, and scavengers, the 1935 Labor Day Hurricane and Henry Flagler's Overseas Railway. Guests receive $2 off of general admission. The center features the Jerry Wilkinson Research Library and a 35-seat movie theater. Dining options include Drift on the Beach, Tides Beachside Bar & Grill, Coccoloba, and Sandy's Bar. Islander Resort offers 110,000 square feet of outdoor space. A conference center features a grand ballroom, an oceanfront veranda and terrace with Atlantic views, a screening room, and a boardroom. The resort uses an old sewer treatment plant to irrigate landscaping that includes drought-resistant plants and trees native to the Florida Keys.
